What does it look like to follow Jesus? It looks like grit. It looks like radical obedience in a world that is radically disobedient. It means going against the grain, against the tide, against the direction of the raging river of culture. That is why we believe this new series for students, Grit: Radical Obedience, is so important
This four-week series designed for students addresses the tough teachings of Jesus: selflessly serving others, loving society’s losers, not being obsessed with possessions, and loving our enemies. These teachings can be difficult to follow, but ultimately reflect Jesus to a broken world.
If you're a youth pastor or a youth leader and want to help the students at your church develop the grit they need to keep moving after Jesus in a world full of blockades, this series is for you. Not only will this series help your students think Christ-like, it will help them take Christ-like action.
Can you imagine what your community would begin to look like if the students in your church began to follow Jesus with grit? Can you see the change that could occur in their schools when they embrace and take action on the tough teachings of Jesus? It could be that they just need a nudge in the right direction, to be reminded of Jesus' call, and to be shown a way forward to make a true and lasting difference.
Grit: Radical Obedience comes with everything you need to promote, illustrate, prepare, and lead small groups through this series.
