Telling someone you love them can become a rote relationship mechanism, so we allow the wonder of loving someone to dawn on us afresh from time to time. Like snapping awake to the beauty of a sunset over the lake or the sound of birds singing, we might need to see love in a renewed way as well. Prayer opens our minds and hearts to the wonder of God’s love for us.
