To appreciate art, you need to consider the symbolic meanings attached to the paintings. Why does the light come from that angle? Do the items in the background communicate a specific message? If you don’t appreciate symbolism, you will miss much of the message in great art. The lampstand in the tabernacle carried significant symbolic potential. Engaging deeply with Scripture allows us to see the possibilities.
