Celebrating Sin

Celebrating Sin
Can you imagine a holiday whose point is to recognize the wrong that we’ve done? Perhaps as a society, instead of celebrating a victory, we would lament over a wrongdoing that we had done to another group or society. We celebrate sacrifice, service, and victories, but we don’t recognize failure and sin. The Old Testament describes a holy day on which God’s people recognize their sin and God’s grace for them: the Day of Atonement.
