If you remove the venom and fangs from a snake, you remove the pain and danger from its bite. A previously deadly snake would no longer scare you if you knew that it could not harm you. In the same way, Christ’s resurrection defanged death. When our loved ones or we experience death now, we know that its power has been eliminated. We do not grieve like others who have no hope (1 Thessalonians 4:13).
