God saves his best creation for last: male and female. Genesis 1:27 says, “So God created man in his own image, in the image of God he created him; male and female he created them.” This moment in Genesis 1 is expanded and slowed down in chapter 2, where it says, “Therefore a man shall leave his father and his mother and hold fast to his wife, and they shall become one flesh. And the man and his wife were both naked and were not ashamed.”
