What makes us holy? According to Jesus, it’s the truth. In verse 17, He says, “Sanctify them in the truth; your word is truth.” This is why we’re people of the Book. We don’t read the Bible because it’s a checklist that earns us points with God. We read it because it makes us holy when we believe it, trust it, and apply it. As it re-centers and reorients our lives, it sets us apart, makes us holy, consecrated, and righteous.
