God Sustains

Imagine you are an ancient Israelite. You lived off the land and food was sometimes difficult to secure for your family. Bread would be a staple food item for you and your community. It is filling and can be made with relatively few ingredients. It sustains you when you otherwise might go hungry. The bread in the tabernacle is a powerful reminder that God cares for and sustains his people. In the same way, we can trust that God will sustain us through the Bread of Life, which is Jesus.
