In the show Arrested Development, all the characters, though adults, repeatedly act like children. Their mistakes and idiocy make for good comedy, but you also realize that in real life they would be a disaster. The name of the show is a term for people whose emotional and mental development stops at an early stage. The church wants to avoid being filled with Christians suffering from arrested development because they stopped growing up in Christ.
