As believers, we live at “ground zero” in a broken world. We are surrounded by people who are in peril because they don’t know Jesus as their Lord and Savior. We are called to be like first responders in an emergency: we must engage and rescue in spite of our personal risk or discomfort. This moving article from NPR tells about a couple of first responders who suffered personal loss at Ground Zero on 9/11: https://www.npr.org/2011/09/07/140035272/nyc-firefighters-share-memories-from-ground-zero.
