This four-week Advent series looks at Matthew 2’s account of Mary, Joseph, and Jesus’s exile and return from Egypt. It examines the parallels to Israel’s history and the significance of the Egypt/exile motif in Scripture. By understanding the incarnation of Christ, his lowly birth, and the Father’s sovereign protection over the young family, we are compelled and empowered to serve those who are less fortunate or find themselves in harm’s way.
