How many expectant parents go out of their way to transform a room from “what the architect designed” to “what my precious child deserves”? How many steps were spent walking through a Lowe’s or Home Depot looking for the perfect wood to build the first shelf to put memories on? How many hours passed looking for the right paint or special stencil for the wall, for bedding and a crib? In the end, when they brought home the baby and said, “This is your room,” it was worth it all. Or maybe it wasn’t the room but the first car. Driving by dealerships or houses seeing cars for sale and saying, “Ooh look at that.” The hours behind the wheel of the family car to get adjusted to driving. Then the day comes: “Here it is; we hope you love it and know you are loved by us.” These are little pictures of what it means that Jesus is preparing a place for us.
