sleeperhold
Sleeperhold

Written from the point of view of Peter, Dolorean’s song “Sleeperhold” poignantly describes the elated, fickle, confused human experience of belief in Christ, starting with participation in his triumphal entry and the Last Supper. Although Peter was present for the kingly procession and the first Holy Communion, he struggles to be faithful. The songwriter uses wrestling metaphors to illustrate that even these moments of fickle faithlessness do not separate Peter (or us!) from the love of Christ. Even when we are “tapping out” from the life of faith because we momentarily feel like we can’t handle it, God holds onto us and does not let go: “Got me in a sleeperhold / And you won’t let me go.”

//cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/0852/9874/1564/files/jefferson-santos-fCEJGBzAkrU-unsplash.jpg?v=1793323730
