This Advent series looks at the ways Jesus’s coming was unexpected and highlights the different reactions of those involved in the Christmas narrative. When we focus on different characters involved in this story, we see that God works in mysterious ways. The people we expect to respond positively often don’t. Those we don’t expect to notice Jesus’s birth, respond enthusiastically. These characters’ responses challenge us to consider how we respond to Jesus.
