They have been transformed! Even more sentimental for parents to watch and create are those graduation photo montages where a cherubic little baby grows into an adult—seemingly in the blink of an eye—ready to launch into their own adult life. What a transformation! Yet, mom and dad often still see that little boy or girl. Did they really change at all, or are they just a taller version of that precious child? Jesus’s transfiguration did not change who he was, nor do our fancy clothes or curated highlight reels. Jesus remained Jesus when they were surrounded in this cloud of glory on the mountainside and when they came down the mountain back to everyday life. What changed was the disciple’s ability to see his glory. Does the same ring true for you and me? Will we be transformed by our faith, or will we remain the same? While Jesus’s transformation seems to be more akin to putting on his fancy duds, our \u003ca href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=G3VMl-EY2DM\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" target=\"_blank\"\u003etransformation is more like a caterpillar to butterfly\u003c\/a\u003e. We enter our faith cocoon as an unimpressive worm, go through a very weird, sometimes gross, and often unglamorous change, and emerge as something totally new!
