   This four-week series invites us to listen in on four conversations people had with or about Jesus in the Gospels. We will look at a moment when Jesus caused someone to make an immediate change, at someone who walked away from a gift Jesus offered, at someone restored to her rightful place in the family of God after talking with Jesus, and at someone who responded by offering his life after Jesus gently challenged his doubts.

Jesus didn’t come as simply a wise man, but as both fully God and fully man. How we react to this truth will affect how serious we take our Christian faith. This sermon series on the Gospel of John includes six specific messages on how Jesus shows his divinity through both His ability to save us from both our sin and it’s consequences, and through His victory over sin and death. Through analyzing Christ’s baptism, his calming the storm, walking on water, and declaring himself as living water we will see his unique divine presence in history and his lordship over all of creation.

   Everlasting Life: Now And Forever

   This six-week series examines John 6, along with a passage from Mark. John 6 begins with Jesus’s miracles of the feeding of the five thousand and walking on water, but then it becomes a much longer discourse about Jesus’s identity as the Bread of Life. The food that truly satisfies is not made from wheat or oats but is made from Jesus’s precious body and blood, and his innocent suffering and death. We often believe that what we do shows who we are, but when we “eat” the flesh and blood of Jesus, he changes us, and that causes us to do what is in his will.

   The Way, The Truth, and the Life

   This seven-week series explores the seven “I Am” statements of Jesus in the Gospel of John. Each “I Am” declaration illustrates a specific revelation of Jesus’s character and testifies to his divinity. Also, each of the “I Am” announcements reveal our spiritual needs and how Jesus perfectly meets each and every one.

    The Living Word

    This six-week series from the Gospel of John focuses on a block of teaching by Jesus concerning the Christian life and the role of the Holy Spirit in living out our faith. In this series, we will see the relevancy of Jesus’s teaching for our lives today as we seek to be his faithful witnesses to the world.

    Behold, The Lamb Of God

    This stand-alone message looks at John the Baptist’s declaration in John 1:29: “Behold, the lamb of God, who takes away the sin of the world.” What does it mean that Jesus is the Lamb of God, and how might that shape our faith in the present?

    Taste and See

    This four-week series examines the food metaphors in the Gospel of John. By looking at Jesus’s words about being living water, the Bread of Life, and the bringer of life through bread and wine, we can understand the biblical and theological impact of these metaphors. Our life is ultimately made whole and satisfied in Jesus.
